Essential Functions:

  • Plan, implement and evaluate employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
  • Advise managers on organization policy matters & address employee relations issues to include mediating disputes, administering disciplinary procedures and terminations
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies and helping resolve work related concerns
  • Ensure the planning, monitoring and appraisal of employee work results by training and mentoring managers to coach and discipline employees
  • Manage full cycle recruiting process
  • Educate employees on company benefits and serve as a resource for benefit needs and questions.
  • Work with the safety team to maintain safety training documentation including audits and training
  • Confer with management to develop, revise and/or implement personnel policies or procedures
  • Prepare and maintain job descriptions, organizational charts, employee handbook, and performance evaluations
  • Conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude towards organizational objectives
  • Manage annual review process & recommend pay structure revisions.
  • Prepare and maintain HR department and employment records
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Conduct exit interviews with departing employees to reveal trends & make recommendations
  • Cultivate professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a HR related field/equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ HR Generalist/Manager experience
  • PHR or SHRM-CP credentials preferred
  • Full cycle recruiting with the proven ability to identify qualified candidates with an engaging approach to candidates; experience sourcing passive candidates for hard to fill roles
  • Experience implementing an HRIS system
  • Preference for experience in construction or other field-service based business
  • Experience with non-exempt/hourly workforce
  • Ability to develop specific goals and plan to prioritize, organize and accomplish job responsibilities
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and dependability
  • Proven ability to “read people” and exercise effective judgment with related issues and challenges
  • Effectively lead and manage people in a respectful manner at all levels of the organization; dedicated to achieving objectives through influence rather than authority
