Essential Functions:
- Plan, implement and evaluate employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
- Advise managers on organization policy matters & address employee relations issues to include mediating disputes, administering disciplinary procedures and terminations
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies and helping resolve work related concerns
- Ensure the planning, monitoring and appraisal of employee work results by training and mentoring managers to coach and discipline employees
- Manage full cycle recruiting process
- Educate employees on company benefits and serve as a resource for benefit needs and questions.
- Work with the safety team to maintain safety training documentation including audits and training
- Confer with management to develop, revise and/or implement personnel policies or procedures
- Prepare and maintain job descriptions, organizational charts, employee handbook, and performance evaluations
- Conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude towards organizational objectives
- Manage annual review process & recommend pay structure revisions.
- Prepare and maintain HR department and employment records
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
- Conduct exit interviews with departing employees to reveal trends & make recommendations
- Cultivate professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a HR related field/equivalent experience
- Minimum 3-5 years’ HR Generalist/Manager experience
- PHR or SHRM-CP credentials preferred
- Full cycle recruiting with the proven ability to identify qualified candidates with an engaging approach to candidates; experience sourcing passive candidates for hard to fill roles
- Experience implementing an HRIS system
- Preference for experience in construction or other field-service based business
- Experience with non-exempt/hourly workforce
- Ability to develop specific goals and plan to prioritize, organize and accomplish job responsibilities
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and dependability
- Proven ability to “read people” and exercise effective judgment with related issues and challenges
- Effectively lead and manage people in a respectful manner at all levels of the organization; dedicated to achieving objectives through influence rather than authority
