Edin Colindres, restoration technician for our Baltimore area office, is coming up on his one-year anniversary this October with Reynolds Restoration Services. As a restoration technician, Edin is usually one of the first team members on-site after a loss and depending on the type of emergency, is tasked with water extraction, demolition, clean up, and other mitigation activities.
Prior to joining the team, Edin worked in construction, mostly building hardscapes such as patios and retaining walls. This experience has certainly been helpful in his transition to emergency restoration, although the two industries have distinct differences.
“I’ve worked in construction for several years but didn’t have any direct experience with mitigation and restoration,” shares Edin. “But that didn’t matter. Since day one, every person on the team has been helpful and supportive. The team is teaching me everything I need to know. They gave me the chance to learn, and other companies just don’t do that. I am thankful for the opportunity.”
Not only is Edin learning the ins and outs of emergency restoration services on the job, he is also learning construction management best practices in the classroom through an associates program with the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). When the branch manager at his office learned of his studies, Edin was invited to work alongside the project managers on several reconstruction jobs so he could gain experience and exposure to this side of the industry.
“Edin is motivated and eager to learn everything about emergency services and reconstruction,” shares Craig McConnell, branch manager for the Baltimore office. “We are lucky to have him on the team and can’t wait to see his progression through the industry.”
Outside of work, Edin is likely spending time with his girlfriend of six years, Nathalie. The two of them like to explore new restaurants in and around the Baltimore region or travel to new places. They are excited about an upcoming trip to Puerto Rico. Edin lives in Baltimore County with his family.
