Reynolds Restoration President, Anthony Worrall, was featured on the Central Penn Business Journal Insights blog. This weeks post, “What Are the Benefits of Hiring an Independent Restoration Contractor” went live on February 12, 2016.

In 2005, Reynolds entered the restoration and reconstruction industry with the development of Reynolds Restoration Services (RRS). Over the course of the last 10-plus years, we have seen continuous growth in revenue, services and territory, including the addition of office locations in King of Prussia and Elkridge, Maryland.

Now with more the 40 full-time employees, we believe that our growth can be attributed to the benefits of being an independent restoration contractor in an industry where franchising has become a common business practice.

Many folks who decide to enter the restoration and reconstruction industry will look to franchising at some point. Franchising offers benefits to the owner like brand recognition, logos, advertising and administration — but for the client, the upside of a franchise is often nonexistent. As an independent contractor, our reputation is everything, and we are responsible only to our clients.

Quality and experience

In this industry, a company is only as good as the people it employs. RRS was spawned from years of estimating, construction and project management experience — things most national franchises lack. Franchisees become experts by namesake, but in reality, franchise standards are very difficult to replicate and reproduce. The advantages of an experienced restoration contractor manifest through the quality of our work.

Cost and customer-effective solutions

First and foremost, an independent restoration contractor does not have to pay expensive corporate fees or franchise royalties. Independents also are not held to a franchise-wide set of standard operating procedures. In our business, there are no internal ramifications when a cost or customer-effective solution is identified and implemented.

Customer service

Without the safety net of a nationally recognized brand name, the client is at the center of everything that we do. As an independent contractor, we can make real-time decisions that allow us to provide an efficient and effective experience for the client.
